I have taught in a variety of large schools in both Lancashire and inner-city Bradford. As a class teacher I have taught from Nursery to Year 5. I have even taught in a large primary school in Hameenlinna in Finland.

I was brought up in the 1980s in Colne and had a very happy childhood surrounded by a loving family. Many of my earliest memories are of spending time outdoors.

I am passionate about giving children the best early childhood experiences and know that not all children learn best in a classroom environment. I am passionate about Outdoor Education, Early Years, giving children as many opportunities as we possibly can and really ‘noticing’ each child and their family as individuals.

I have had the pleasure of being the Headteacher here at Greatwood since September 2018 and my favourite quote about our school was from a new parent who said when she visited school for the first time that she felt like she had received ‘the biggest hug.’
